Audio Project

Our audio project was to create a podcast about something that is relevant to college students all around the United States.  My group and I decided to focus on fake IDs for our project.  We set everything up to sound like a radio talk show.

Each of the four of us interviewed someone about fake IDs for the podcast.  I interviewed a junior at N.C. State who admitted to having and using a fake ID around the Raleigh area.  I asked him about ten questions about his fake ID.  I asked him about how he acquired a fake ID and where he used it the most.  We also discussed his fears about getting caught while using a fake ID.  Overall, I would say my interview was pretty helpful to the project.

The initial idea to use fake IDs as a topic was mine.  I had recently worked on an article for the Technician about the same subject and felt as though it would make an interesting topic for a talk show.  Everyone in our group contributed something important to the project.  I interviewed the person with a fake ID, assisted with the editing, and completed my separate commercial assignment.

Along with the podcast, we were also required to record a commercial individually to be aired during the podcast.  I chose to do my commercial about the N.C. State homecoming game.  I wrote a script and recorded the advertisement using Audacity and some free sound effects found online.

My main intention with this project was to make it relevant and relatable for college students today.  Both our topic about fake IDs and my commercial about the homecoming game accomplished this.
